Polyethylene (PE) is a thermoplastic material produced from the polymerization of ethylene. Polyethylene (PE) is a
thermoplastic material belonging to a group of polymers called polyolefins. It is usually categorized by its density as
indicated in the abbreviations; HDPE (high density PE), MDPE (medium density PE), LDPE (low density PE), and LLDPE
(linear low density PE).

Benefits & Characteristic of PE (Polyethylene) :

  • Zero Leaks PE Pipe can be joined by a heat fusion process that forms joints that are leak-free.
  • Environment Advantage PE is safe, environmentally friendly pipe material. The application of PE pipe for water
distribution results in energy efficiency through reduced electric consumption. Using less energy results in a
lower carbon footprint, and PEʼs jointless fusion technology means it never releases toxins from sewage into
the ground or potable water supply.
  • Corrosion and Chemical Resistant PE pipe is nonconductive polymer and does not rust or corrode, assuring
long service and effective use of municipal dollars.
  • Lower Life Cycle Costs Due to PEʼs flexibility and jointless construction, installation costs are lower compared to
other types of pipe. In addition, PE does not leak, which reduces repair and maintenance costs simultaneously.
  • Perfect for Trenchless PE is the number one choice for trenchless installations, such as pipe bursting, sliplining,
and directional drilling, which reduces restoration and roadway reconstruction costs, and allows for installation
under rivers and lakes with less disruption to the environment or population.
  • Lightweight and Flexible PE is lightweight and does not require the use of heavy lifting equipment for
installation. It reduces the need for fittings, is excellent in shifting soils and performs well in earthquake-prone
areas. The pipeʼs flexibility solves many unique problems that cannot be fixed with rigid concrete or ductile iron
    pipe.

PE Pipes can be applied in the areas as follows :

  • Water Reticulation
  • Gas Reticulation
  • Subterranean Underlying
  • Effluent and Sewage
  • Relining Existing Pipes

Joining Methods :

  • PP (Polypropylene) Mechanical Compression Fittings
  • Butt Fusion Fittings
  • Electrofusion Fittings
  • Fabricated PE Fittings
